The Japan Falconiformes Center has become member of IUCN
The Japan Falconiformes Center (JFC) was organized in 1982 to promote various conservation projects for Japanese birds of prey with falconry technique and facilities that was developed by falconers in Edo period (1603-1868). It is an expansion of the activities of The Hawking Club of Japan that was established 1964 for the preservation of traditional Japanese falconry and the conservation of birds of prey. JFC is member organization of International Association for Falconry & Conservation of Birds of Prey (IAF) since 1973 and The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) since 2022.
In Japan, several birds of prey are classified as endangered species by the effect of human activities to develop the style of living. We think that we should use our wisdom and energy to improve the situation of wildlife after the environmental disruption by human.
